Coach Applicants

Are you interested in coaching for JBRS in 2023? Please find all the details below!

Assistant Coaches (ages 15+)

Assistant Coaches are 15 or older, and those between 15-18 are required to be swimmers on our team. Assistant coaches are paid based on their previous experience, the number of hours/weeks worked during the summer, and their attendance at additional events.

The job of the Assistant Coach is to teach the swimmers proper swimming technique, help run workouts, cheer on the swimmers and teach good sportsmanship.

Assistant Coaches will attend:

  • A Virtual Coaches Training - Date TBD
  • Practices as assigned
  • Thursday night meets
  • Friday coach meetings & Fun Friday
  • County Meet (both days)

Junior Assistant Coaches (age 13-15)

The Junior Assistant Coach will support the coaches and the team by helping with equipment, deck set up and clean up, working with younger swimmers in the water as needed, etc. This is a great volunteer role for younger JBRS team members who may be interested in the Assistant Coach position in the future. Junior Assistant Coaches can earn service hours if their school, scouts, church or other organizations require service hours.

How to Apply:

The 2023 JBRS Coach Application is available here. If you have questions about coaching for JBRS, please contact Julie Morgan, team manager. The number of coaches hired each summer is determined by our registration numbers, as well as coach availability, and our budget. Coaches who earn over $600 will receive a 1099 for their summer coaching position.
